Want to know a secret?
I hate change.
I’m very much a creature of habit.
I eat the same 5-6 meals every week.
I frequent the same restaurants.
I wear a handful of clothes repeatedly.
And it’s not because I don’t like different things. I mean I’m all about finding a good beach vacation spot. BUT once I do, it will be the one I go to ALL.THE.TIME.
You see “change is inevitable”. Without it, we will never grow. And even if we welcome change or feel prepared for it, doesn’t mean it won’t come with its own set of challenges.
As you read last week, I have been under a fair amount of stress lately, but one of those projects was for good reason. You see when I first started Ripped by Rycroft I knew what I wanted it to reflect.
My current branding, logo, and overall marketing wasn’t getting this message across.
And it was frustrating to say the least.
As predicted, change was inevitable and so my journey began.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a marketing or branding expert. I have zero skills in the design realm unless we are talking program design.
Lucky for me, “I knew a guy” or gal in this case who also happens to be a coach like me. SCORE!
When I approached Sibyl of The Choice Umbrella about my project, I felt at ease immediately and gave her a virtual high five.
While I knew this would be a large project of CHANGE to work through, she made the whole process go smoothly. The first order of business was to complete a thorough questionnaire about me and my coaching.
This was eye opening for me.
It gave me so much clarity on my message, my mission, and my values. It wasn’t easy but it was necessary. Without clarity on who we are and how we want our message to be received, we are lost.
From there we went about setting up an inspiration board of things I liked...colors, quotes, textures, images, etc. You guys, I’m not a Pinterest person, so it’s only natural for me to have this reaction right?
This “may” have been harder than completing the questionnaire but when it all came together it was a thing of beauty.
Now that this was done, it was time to create new logos and branding pieces to fit my mission. Holy wow we went through so many iterations. Sibyl definitely has the patience of a saint as we went through edit after edit.
But the result? Well see for yourself. The final pieces came together exactly how I wanted them to. They speak to my mission above.
It’s a mix of sassiness, strength, and beauty.
It’s no nonsense and powerful.
All the things I see in you whether you do or not.
Wow! What a journey this has been.
Change. It’s inevitable.
Sometimes painful and challenging BUT also worth it when you see the final transformation.
