Are you a breakfast eater? Or dare I ask are you a “healthy” breakfast eater?
Maybe you need some inspiration for a few great breakfast foods. Maybe you don't have time and you need some healthy ideas for “grab and go” mornings - who doesn't ever run short on time in the mornings?
Maybe you're ready to ditch the “desserts” that are marketed as being “part of a complete breakfast”.
Don't worry, I have you covered!
There was a time years ago I fell into this trap. I saw someone on social media who looked how I wanted to look. I wanted to know EXACTLY what she did - workouts, meal plan, supplements, etc so I could do it too.
And I did. But the results weren't the same. Because I live in a different body than she does. I have different genetics than she does.
I learned quickly through my own experiments and through coaching that results are individual and that one person's approach that gets them phenomenal results won't work for the next person, particularly in regard to nutrition.
You know there is a bit of an over-emphasis (borderline obsession) about cholesterol, right? It's why everyone is eating boring, tasteless egg whites and avoiding the delicious, nutrient-dense yolk.
I feel sorry for these people. They are missing out on deliciousness!
Look cholesterol is not all bad. It just gets a bad rap. Did you know there is “good” cholesterol? Let me bust some common cholesterol myths right now starting with the myth that “cholesterol is cholesterol” because it's not.
Where are my coffee lovers at??
It's not a secret that I LOVE my coffee. There was a time when I would drink 2-3 cups at home and then have 1-2 grande mochas from Starbucks all in the same day. 😱
There was also a time in my life that I gave up coffee completely...COLD TURKEY. I'm not even sure why I did it. Oh, I remember now! Because someone told me it was toxic and causing me not to lose those unwanted pounds of fat.
Those same people have since switched their stance. 🙄
Oh my gosh – nutrition and diet info is everywhere ! It's why I was so frustrated when I tried to lose 40lbs and I'm sure you are overwhelmed by it all too.
Each expert and fitness professional tries to lead you in their direction because they know best and their advice is going to help you. Right?
We all do it. Sometimes the amazing aroma and delicious flavor gets the best of us. Especially if we're a bit on the hungry (or hangry) side.
I'm talking about overeating at meals. You know you've done it. I've done it.
Thanksgiving dinner anyone?? Sometimes those holiday feasts are just amazing. And I only make stuffing once a year so inevitably I'm a big blob of goo by the time the day is over.
And it's not just the abundance of delicious food but also the people, the decorations, and the ambiance.
Who wouldn’t want a quick and easy way to lose weight? Imagine being able to just mix a shake in the morning, drink it, and magically lose weight without having to do anything else. Sadly, it’s just not possible to do that and many companies would have you believe that they have the answer to your weight loss woes.
I remember when I first started eating "healthy". I'm using quotes because I think this word gets misused a lot. I would fall for all the advertising buzzwords like low-fat, healthy, fat free, natural, etc until I started paying attention to the labels. It was then that I realized that what I thought or better yet, what I was sold on as being healthy wasn't really healthy at all.
How much do you really know about the foods that you eat? The reality is that there are many foods out there sold under the premise of being ‘healthy’, but guess what? Not everything is always what it seems.
The simple act of putting together a meal doesn’t sound like it should be complex, but in reality you probably feel like it's not easy...almost like it's rocket science, right? There are so many different fad diets and eating plans in existence that things have become a tad confusing; and it’s difficult to know where to start. Some people demonize certain food groups - often the same food groups that others love. As a result of all this confusion, it can be tough to know exactly how to put together a genuinely beneficial meal.
As enjoyable as fitness can be (and it should be enjoyable), the simple truth is that the goal is also important. And while you should enjoy the process, almost everyone who trains wants to see their body change as a result of their efforts.
